After several rainy days punctuated by occasional thunderstorms, the Czech Republic is set for a welcome respite in the latter half of this week. Meteorologists predict minimal precipitation and a return to summer-like conditions that will peak this weekend, with temperatures reaching a balmy 29°C (84°F). According to ČT meteorologist Milada Křížová, this warm spell won’t last long – cooler weather with clouds, rain, and showers is expected to return by Monday.
Wednesday brings partly cloudy conditions with temperatures between 17-21°C (63-70°F), while Thursday marks the transition as a warm front moves across the country. Early Thursday will remain cool with temperatures between 7-11°C (45-52°F) and light winds, particularly in the eastern regions. By afternoon, the clouds will begin to disperse from the southwest, allowing temperatures to climb to 25°C (77°F).
The real shift begins Friday with clear to partly cloudy skies and temperatures rising to 22-27°C (72-81°F). Saturday promises to be the highlight of the weekend, with clear or nearly clear skies and temperatures soaring to 24-29°C (75-84°F), though mornings may still feel somewhat cool. The summer-like conditions will continue Sunday, with maximum temperatures between 24-28°C (75-82°F) and morning temperatures rising to about 14°C (57°F) thanks to an influx of warm air.
The pleasant weather won’t last, however. Monday will see a cold front moving across the Czech Republic from the west, bringing increasing cloud cover with occasional showers, rain, and even possible thunderstorms. While eastern regions may still enjoy temperatures up to 27°C (81°F), western parts of the country will cool to around 24°C (75°F).
Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to remain above average until the end of September. According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), early October will bring a more significant cooling trend, with daytime highs falling below 20°C (68°F) and notably colder nights.
