Traffic accident causes Molalla power outage, delays and closes schools

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Molalla River School District is starting two hours late on Monday after a traffic accident caused an outage.

Early Monday morning, the school district announced that they would be opening late and to watch for updates.

Shortly after 8 a.m., the district sent an update that Molalla River Middle School would be closed, while the other district schools are still set to open late.

According to Portland General Electric’s Outage Map, as of 6:15 a.m., over 1,000 people in Molalla are without power due to a traffic accident.

The estimated power restoration time is 10:15, the outage map said.
