MINCO, Okla. (KFOR) — A small town is coming together in faith on Tuesday to pray for their high school softball team.
They were involved in a terrible bus crash on Monday night while on their way home from a game.
18 people on Minco school bus crash
Out of the 18 people on the bus, six of them were hurt. One is still in critical condition tonight.
It was an emotional night for those in attendance, with many sad faces amongst the crowd.
Many people we heard from say they are thankful no one died in that terrible accident, and plan to move forward together as one big family.
“Just to support the softball girls here, just to worship, pray, and just to support the families,” Tracy Mathews said. “The coaches, and just come together as a community.”
The small town of Minco joined in prayer on Tuesday following the horrific accident on State Highway 152 just east of Cogar on Monday night.
After seeing the bus, many in attendance say it is a miracle no lives were lost.

“For this to be so many and for everybody to survive, I think it’s God’s grace,” Lauren Jewell said. “I also think it’s due to the coach’s ability to drive. I really thank him for keeping our girls safe and for keeping them alive.”
The Minco family, along with the surrounding community, came out and came together.
“I just want to thank the community and all the surrounding communities who are really supporting this small town,” Jewell said. “It’s tragedies like this that really bring everybody together.”
With kids going back to school on Wednesday, hoping for a sense of normalcy again, the community will continue to come together in support as the recovery journey for some involved is just beginning.
“We’re not quite out of the woods yet,” Jewell said. “A lot of our girls still need help. One of our
coaches really still needs help. So, anything that the community can do, surrounding communities, we have a lot of fundraisers out right now. Pink Lodge is doing a great fundraiser with t-shirts right now that all the proceeds go to the softball team, and we’re just going to surround them and we’re going to give them everything they need.”
An account has been set up at the First National Bank and Trust in Minco.
All funds will go directly towards helping the players and coaches.
