The Criminal Security Affairs Department has arrested a gang of four African nationals accused of stealing money from vehicles in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area, reported Al Rai newspaper.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said several thefts had recently been reported. Following investigations supported by modern technology, authorities discovered that the suspects were targeting bank customers in the Al-Dajeej area.
According to Al Rai newspaper, the gang used vehicles with mismatched plates, concealed base numbers, and frequently switched license plates to hide their identities and mislead security forces.
Sources noted that after verifying the information and identifying the perpetrators, a security force was deployed to monitor the bank locations. Surveillance continued for several days, culminating in the arrest of all suspects while they were in their vehicle near a bank in the Al-Dajeej area.
The defendants have confessed to the thefts, and legal procedures are underway in preparation for their referral to the competent authorities.
