HONIARA, 5 September 2025 – The Solomon Islands Government has made special arrangements to facilitate the smooth arrival of leaders, delegates, and accredited media personnel attending the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Honiara next week.

The Meeting is an annual gathering of Pacific Leaders, commencing on September 8 -12, on the theme “Umi Tugeda: Act Now for an Integrated Blue Pacific Continent”.

To ensure a hassle-free experience, entry exemptions have been granted to all visiting delegates, and their names and details have been entered into the new Immigration Border Management System (BMS).

Dedicated immigration counters have been set up at the arrivals area specifically for PIF delegates, while a designated BMS station has been established for Heads of Delegations, Heads of Government, and those accessing the Honiara International Airport VIP lounge.

Immigration officers will work closely with the protocol team to ensure seamless clearance for individuals entering through the VIP lounge.

These arrangements demonstrate the government’s commitment to hosting a successful and efficient meeting and to ensuring the comfort and convenience of visiting delegates.

The Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting is the annual gathering of Pacific Islands Forum Leaders.

Leaders from all 18 member countries will meet to deliberate on issues impacting and concerning member countries as well as the region as a whole.

Leaders will consider recommendations from previous Ministers’ meetings for endorsements, and make decisions to collectively further regional priorities.
