US President Donald Trump, during yesterday’s visit of Polish President Karol Nawrocki, emphasized that the Polish leader “ran an incredible race, started from behind and won with ease.” The American leader also revealed who encouraged him to give Nawrocki public support ahead of the June election.
Trump backed Nawrocki. “You will win”
In May of this year, a meeting took place between the presidential candidate of Poland, President of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), Dr. Karol Nawrocki, and US President Donald Trump. As Nawrocki later said in an interview with TV Republika, the American leader told him: “You will win.”
“I interpreted this as a wish for success in the upcoming election and, after the entire day, I can say that the American administration is aware of what is happening in Poland. All these meetings were with people who, on the one hand, are devoted to working for the USA, but on the other hand are aware of what is happening in Poland and that these elections in Poland are very important,” said the presidential candidate.
He was the one who persuaded Trump to support Nawrocki. “He was fantastic”
Yesterday, Karol Nawrocki, now as president, once again met his American counterpart at the White House. During the meeting, Trump emphasized that he was very proud to have supported Nawrocki. “He ran an incredible race. He started from behind and won with ease. The Poles immediately liked him. They really love him. He is now more popular than before,” said the US President.
The American leader also revealed who had encouraged him to publicly endorse Nawrocki – it was Vince Haley, Director of the United States Domestic Policy Council (DPC).
“I want to thank Vince Haley for the recommendation. Vince was fantastic and I appreciate it,” declared Trump.
