A rollover crash involving a tractor-trailer in Eastford on Tuesday led to a fuel spill and a response from state environmental officials.
The crash was reported on Route 44 at 4:34 p.m. when a 34-year-old Massachusetts man lost control of a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia 126 while heading west, according to Connecticut State Police.
The vehicle ran off the right side of the road and up an embankment, striking two Department of Transportation signs and several trees, state police said. The tractor-trailer rolled over at one point before stopping, according to state police.
No injuries were reported.
The driver was found to be at fault for the crash and was issued an infraction for failure to maintain the proper lane, state police said. The vehicle had to be towed.
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to the scene to handle a fuel leak that occurred.
