RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A police officer is recovering from injuries after being hit by a car early Saturday morning in southeast Raleigh.
According to officers, the officer responded to an ongoing car break-in investigation around 3:30 a.m. on Thistlebrook Court, located just off of Maybrook Drive and Poole Road.
Police reported that the responding officer sustained minor injuries in the incident and was taken to the hospital. They said the officer is expected to recover.

CBS 17 was on the scene at Thistlebrook Court where multiple officers were gathering evidence and continuing the car break-in investigation.
Officers said the suspect accused of the break-ins and hitting the officer with their car fled the scene and has yet to be caught.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
