Tran Sy Thanh, chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, said in a directive issued on Friday that the decision reflects the city’s spirit of sharing and unity with residents of Hue City, Da Nang City, and Quang Ngai Province, which are suffering severe losses from prolonged floods.

Thanh instructed organizers to remove fireworks from the closing ceremonies of the Autumn Fair and the ‘Dan Truong – 30 Years: Youthful Mark’ live concert to show sympathy with people in disaster-hit areas.

Earlier the same day, Bui Thi Minh Hoai, secretary of the municipal Party Committee, sent letters of condolence and encouragement to the Party Committees, authorities, and people of Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai.

On behalf of the Vietnamese capital’s citizens, she announced the VND30-billion donation, with VND10 billion ($380,000) for each locality, to support flood recovery efforts.

The 2025 Autumn Fair, the first national-scale cultural and trade fair held at the Vietnam Exposition Center in Dong Anh Commune from October 25 to November 4, features exhibits from 34 provinces and cities across more than 130,000 square meters.

The fair offers visitors a vibrant mix of cultural showcases, trade promotion, and entertainment activities.

Organizers said the successful launch of the Autumn Fair aims to establish a four-season trade fair series — Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter — as a major cultural and commercial event to boost domestic consumption, promote cultural industries, and enhance Vietnam’s international outreach.
