LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A retired Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department undersheriff passed at the age of 87, the department announced Tuesday.
Retired LVMPD Undersheriff Donald L. Denison, 87, passed away peacefully on Aug. 16. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served the Las Vegas community as undersheriff until 1981 when he retired.

“He will be remembered for his integrity, leadership, and devotion to both his country and family,” LVMPD said in a social media post Tuesday.
Denison later continued his commitment to public service as Director of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety.
