The person accused of fatally shooting the conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event on a Utah college campus last week was hit with a battery of charges Tuesday and prosecutors say they intend to seek the death penalty.
Tyler Robinson, 22, was being held without bail after surrendering to authorities last week. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday.
Authorities said he had criticized Kirk, a close friend and political ally of both President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, The Washington Post reported.
In conversations with friends on the online platform Discord, Robinson apparently confessed to killing Kirk, 31, a popular figure in conservative circles, and a married father of two.
Authorities in Utah released the documents supporting the charges. You can read them below.
