A witness at the scene said two were a father and son, and that the father went into the lake to save his son from drowning.
LAKE PERRIS, Calif. (KABC) — A father is dead, and his child is in the hospital after a drowning incident in Lake Perris on Saturday.
Cal Fire responded to the reported drowning around 4:30 p.m. near the Lake Perris boat docks.
Officials said an adult was located and pronounced dead. The child was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
A witness at the scene said the two were a father and son, and that the father went into the lake to save his son from drowning.
The witness also said a group of people tried to help the dad, and they deemed him a hero for saving his son’s life.
