The holiday season in Little Rock will shine a little brighter this year as the BIG Little Rock Holiday Parade returns on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) has announced that this year’s theme, “Candy Cane Lane,” will bring a swirl of bright lights, creativity and cheer to the downtown area.
“We are thrilled to once again host the BIG Little Rock Holiday Parade and can’t wait to see how our community embraces and embodies this year’s parade theme,” said Gina Gemberling, LRCVB president and CEO. “The BIG Little Rock Holiday Parade is a beloved tradition that celebrates Little Rock’s creativity and togetherness during the holiday season.”
Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. will serve as grand marshal and host the parade’s ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2:45 p.m., just before the official start at 3 p.m. Attendees can expect to see plenty of imaginative floats, sweetly styled costumes and peppermint-inspired designs. Parade participants will compete for cash prizes, including a $500 grand prize and a trophy.
This year’s parade will begin at Broadway and West Markham and travel east along Markham before ending near I-30. Before the festivities kick off, families can enjoy a variety of holiday activities starting at 2 p.m. inside the Statehouse Convention Center, including photos with Santa, a make-your-own ornament station and more. The evening will conclude with the Arkansas State Capitol Lighting Ceremony, which is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. A full list of holiday offerings is available at LittleRock.com.
The parade is also part of a larger weekend celebration known as Jingle.Ball.Rock!, which includes the big parade, the State Capitol lighting ceremony and the UA Little Rock–Arkansas State University basketball game at the Jack Stephens Center. Visitors and residents alike are invited to embrace a weekend packed with holiday cheer and Little Rock traditions.
