GRAND HAVEN, MI — Add some whimsy to your week with a treasure hunt in this Lake Michigan beach town.
Grand Haven is celebrating National Talk Like a Pirate Day on 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 with a downtown treasure hunt.
Young mateys and old salts alike are invited to walk the plank and take on swashbucklin’ pirate tasks at each port o’ call, said Caleb Berko, store manager at MACkite.
Pick a store along the route that displays the event poster and begin the journey of collecting stickers. Each stop will be a step closer to collecting the pirate booty.
“Events like this are about opening up our doors to everyone in our community,” Berko said. “It’s easy to end up shopping at the stores you like and never venturing outside those few. We hope everyone may find a new store they love and have a fun time doing it.”
Participating businesses can be identified by the poster in each window or review the list on Facebook.
