The National Weather Service is predicting 1-2 inches of rain in Everett, with areas in the Cascades getting over 4 inches of rain.
EVERETT — Hopefully, an umbrella is included in your Halloween costume because the National Weather Service is predicting over 4 inches of rain for parts of Snohomish County this weekend.
A “moderately strong” atmospheric river is headed towards the region, with rain starting to pick up on Friday afternoon, National Weather Service meteorologist Dev McMillian said.
“This is a loaded system,” he said Friday morning. “For the Cascades of Snohomish County, it could be rainfall amounts anywhere between 2 to 4 inches, with locally even above 5 inches of rain starting this afternoon through Saturday night.”
The Snohomish, Skykomish and Snoqualmie rivers are forecasted to reach flood action stage by Saturday, meaning flooding may be possible in certain areas.
In the lowlands, such as Everett, the National Weather Service is predicting 1-2 inches of rain, accompanied by winds of 15-20 mph and gusts reaching up to 37 mph.
Wind and rain are expected to ease on Sunday, but rains are forecasted throughout next week.
