We live in times of a regime

The entire narrative that something was unlawful has collapsed. Even former Minister of Justice and former President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK), Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, said, “I did not file any notification because no law was broken,” reminded Michał Wójcik, referring to the investigation concerning the Justice Fund.

“Justice for Poland! The Polish right has achieved a great victory in the presidential elections. Since then, the pro-Brussels Polish government has launched a political witch hunt against it,” wrote Viktor Orbán on social media, posting a photo with Ziobro.

🇵🇱 Justice for Poland! The Polish right achieved a tremendous victory in the presidential election. Since then, the pro-Brusselian Polish government has launched a political witch hunt against them.

Meanwhile, in Poland, the authorities have taken further actions against the politician. On Tuesday, Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek submitted a request to the Sejm to lift Ziobro’s immunity and to authorize his detention and arrest.

Members of Law and Justice (PiS) spoke out on the matter today. “Donald Tusk passes judgments. He decides who will go to prison. As we can see, it’s not the justice system, but Donald Tusk. Instead of dealing with Polish affairs, he focuses on fighting the opposition, on fighting Law and Justice,” began Mariusz Błaszczak, head of the PiS parliamentary club.

He was followed by former Deputy Minister of Justice Michał Wójcik.

“The entire narrative that something was unlawful has collapsed. Even former Minister of Justice and former President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK), Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, said: ‘I did not file any notification because no law was broken.’ What are we talking about right now? We’re talking about what Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote after meeting with Zbigniew Ziobro in Budapest. The meeting lasted many hours. Afterward, the Hungarian leader admitted that ‘in the heart of Europe, the opposition is being destroyed using state institutions,’” he pointed out.

As he argued, “This is about destroying the opposition, humiliating, and breaking specific individuals. In Zbigniew Ziobro’s case, it’s about sensational images – a politician in handcuffs and later behind bars. It’s disgraceful. The regime was built over two years. First, they took over the public media, brutally violating the law. Then they attacked the prosecution service. Today, we have an illegal head of the National Prosecutor’s Office. Then they attacked the Constitutional Tribunal. We are the only country in the world where judges of such a tribunal do not receive salaries. They attacked the courts, their presidents, and vice presidents,” said Wójcik.

And he continued:

“Having seized control of the prosecution service and the courts, they moved on to transparency. That’s how the Random Case Allocation System was removed. Since they couldn’t do it legally, they changed the law through a regulation. That’s not allowed. The President has referred the matter to the Constitutional Tribunal, and a notification has also been filed with the prosecution service. All of this shows what is happening in Poland. We live in times of a regime. In the 21st century, our nation has reached a point where war rages beyond our borders, while inside, the government destroys and humiliates its opponents.”
