Key Findings from the Reuters Institute Report

TV Republika has been ranked number one in Poland on social media, according to a report by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, which covers 40 million residents and 86% of internet users.

The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism report indicates that among the most frequently mentioned news brands on social media and video platforms, TV Republika took first place. In this ranking, it surpassed, among others, Kanał Zero, TVN, Onet, OKO.press, and Gazeta Wyborcza.

Among the most popular social media platforms used as sources of news in Poland were Facebook, YouTube, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, TikTok, and X. The latter increased its user base seeking information in Poland by 6 percent over the past year.

Online creators are playing an increasingly significant role

The report shows that online creators are increasingly replacing traditional media. Many of those mentioned are not openly political and have no political affiliations. However, when it comes to politics (both commentators and politicians), the most frequently mentioned figures tend to be conservative.

Among the most popular names listed were Łukasz Bok, Krzysztof Stanowski, Piotr Zychowicz, and Rafał Ziemkiewicz.
