An economic delegation from Bosnia Herzegovina met several Libyan entities in Tripoli over the last week. The delegation was led by Dino Selimović, Advisor to the Bosnian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and included a group of business leaders and directors of investment companies.
The Bosnia Herzegovina delegation met the General Authority for Exhibitions (27 October), the Libyan Iron and Steel Company – LISCO (28 October), the Libyan Industry Union – LIU (28 October), the General Electricity Company of Libya – GECOL (29 October), and the Libya Africa Investment Portfolio – LAIP (29 October).
Dino Selimović reported that these meetings come within the framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economic diplomacy aiming to connect business communities to explore opportunities in areas such as metal and steel, automotive, energy, construction, engineering, wood processing, agriculture, food industry, halal sector, tech and IT, education and innovation.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, he added, is looking to open new markets for export to North and Central Africa, building long-term cooperation that supports sustainable growth and industrial development. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s industry representatives, and other sector-specific organizations are ready to work with Libyan partners to support business networking, trade, export and new investment projects and joint-venture initiatives.
Discussions with the Libyan entities, Selimović revealed, included opportunities to connect relevant institutions and initiatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina, such as Bosnia’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA), providing full support to foreign investors, as well as the Agency in Canton Sarajevo, promoting strategic investment projects in the capital region.
Business Zone Ratkovac in the city of Cazin was also promoted, offering attractive industrial infrastructure and incentives for investors, as well as other locations in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
Selimović also suggested that Libyan companies reach out to – Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to connect with successful companies and key investment sectors.
