The 3-year-old toddler from UK who fell into a hotel swimming pool on the island of Rhodes has died, after the little girl fought 12 days for her life.
The girl’s death will change the indictment against her uncle, the head of the travel agency, the owner and the manager of the hotel.
The little girl fell into the swimming pool of a hotel in Rhodes on October 14, 2025, and remained for some ten minutes in the bottom of the pool, before someone noticed her and pulled her out (KTG reported HERE).
She was unconscious but alive and doctors in two Greek hospitals estimated that her damage she suffered was irreversible.
The 3-year-old passed away last Sunday, October 26, twelve days of being hospitalized in various hospitals, both in Greece and in her homeland, the UK.
Despite the doctors’ battle and the struggle she herself was giving to stay alive, her fall into the Rhodes swimming pool proved fatal. The child remained in the pool for a full 10 minutes until a customer dived into the water and pulled her unconscious.
From the first days of hospitalization, doctors had informed her family that the damage the little girl had suffered was irreparable.
The 3-year-old from UK was first hospitalized in the hospital in Rhodes, then transferred to Crete. There, the doctors decided that she could be transferred to a hospital in Britain.
Initially arrested for the shocking accident were her 44-year-old uncle, who was responsible for her supervision at the time, as well as the 54-year-old manager of the travel agency responsible for the customers served by the hotel.
A criminal case for the offense of exposure, which caused the 3-year-old serious bodily harm, has been filed against both these 2 men and the 57-year-old owner of the hotel and the manager of the unit, who were not arrested.
The indictment is expected to change after the death of the young child.
Security gaps
The investigation carried out at the site showed that the safety and protection measures for customers were minimal, as there was no lifeguard at the hotel, there were no lifesaving equipment in the specific pool, and there was no person responsible for surveillance in the area.
The footage from the hotel’s security cameras plays a decisive role in the legal developments of the case.
The video reportedly showed the child entering the pool alone and remaining in the water for approximately 10 minutes without anyone noticing his presence. During this time, no person performing surveillance duties or being near the pool is identified in the footage.
The child was pulled unconscious by a hotel guest, who accidentally noticed the little body floating.
