Bristol man pleads guilty in wrong way crash that killed 21-year-old

SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III said that a 55-year-old Bristol, R.I. man pled guilty in the case of a 2021 wrong way crash that killed a 21-year-old. 

Hector Fernandez was charged with motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation.

The crash that took place in Jan. 2021 resulted in the death of Portsmouth 21-year-old Adriaen Thibeault.

Thibeault’s vehicle was engulfed in flames after the crash.

Fernandez was sentenced to serve two-and-a-half years to the house of correction, with eighteen months to serve with the balance of the sentence suspended for five years.
