MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One driver was killed and another driver was injured during a crash in Madison County.
The crash occurred on Highway 16 near Davis Road around 6:00 a.m. on September 17, 2025.
Authorities discuss investigation into Delta State student’s death
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), a 2025 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling west on the highway when it collided with a 2014 Dodge Charger that was traveling east.
Troopers said the driver of the Dodge, 63-year-old Janet Scott, of Yazoo, received fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson with unknown injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
